Recently, the government has come under fire about the choice to hold the 2012 London Olympics shooting events in the Woolwich Arsenal. Although a grand venue rich in history and tradition, many are dismayed that the govt. are overlooking the chance to leave a permanent Olympic calibre shooting range elsewhere since after the event the Woolwich ranges will be pulled down.
Do you think it is a good choice to hold this event in this venue, or should the opportunity be used to either build a new world-class centre or upgrade a present centre (Bisley for example) so that the money spent leaves a lasting addition to British sport? |

RE: Choices for 2012 Olympic Shooting
It seems ridiculous to put up temporary ranges and tear them down again after at considerable cost. I wonder how much of this has come from pressure frfom the IOC?
