Kidnapped aid workers freed in Somalia
I am so glad to hear this. I was following this case closely. Somalia has a big problem with kidnappings and I am glad these workers were released unharmed.

Quote:MOGADISHU, Somalia (AP) -- Two foreign aid workers who were kidnapped last week in Somalia have been released, a diplomat said on Wednesday.

The abducted women -- a doctor from Spain and a nurse from Argentina -- were seized on December 26 in Puntland, a semi-autonomous region in northeastern Somalia.

"We are happy the two are released," said Nicolas Martin Cinto, the Spanish ambassador to Kenya.

Cinto, who traveled to Somalia to lobby for the women's freedom, said no ransom was paid for their release.

RE: Kidnapped aid workers freed in Somalia
It's sad that such things still occur in modern day society.

What they are doing is not only morally wrong but quite primitive as well! It's almost as they're trying to bring back slavery, as the practice of selling humans was associated with slavery. But they probably go to extreme measures in order to make money as they know that people want these kidnapped individuals to be released and that their families may eventually comply with their ransoms as long as they get the kidnapped individual back.
