Hugo Chavez has appointed a retired military officer as vice president.

Ramon Carrizales will replace the current vice president, Jorge Rodriguez. The new vice president will help launch Chavez's socialist party this month.

Chavez also plans to make some other changes that will help stop corruption and inefficiency amongst state-run functions.

While a lot of people don't like him, if these new changes do really help the country, people might start to accept him.
