Oil in the Middle East
Oil. That is what the modern Middle Eastern geopolitics have usually been about. Given the vast energy resources that form the backbone of western economies, influence and involvement in the Middle East has been of paramount importance for the former and current imperial and super powers, including France, Britain, USA and the former Soviet Union.

RE: Oil in the middle east
I think that people can find plenty more oil in other places. Why not Mexico? Has anyone tried there yet? Also, Alaska apparently has plenty of oil in certain places as well. It's a sad fact that the United States has to rely on the Middle East for oil, especially when there's already so much conflict going on.

RE: Oil in the Middle East
I am sorry to say but the western countries especially the US have been exploiting other countries to take away their resources. This is especially true in the case of US invasion on Iraq. US has been constantly importing oil from Iraq since the war has started.
Its a very bad thing to do and US should stop misusing its power like this.
