With several weak performance from the middle order batsmen, there is a lot of talk about how England can bolster their batting prior to the commencement of the Oval test next week.

Ravi Bopara has been consistently poor and perhaps should be given a chance to get his game together on the county circuit before batting for England again. Likewise, the form of both Bell and Collingwood has been questionable.

As for replacements, Mark Ramprakash has been mentioned along with Jonathan Trott and Kent skipper Rob Key.
