The Bear Incident
Hi,
Well if you've watched the news lately, you will know about the woman who took some schoolkids on a trip. She let a student call a bear Mohammad, and that started a big debate.
The woman (The teacher I believe) was jailed for 15 days just for that.
Was this fair?

RE: The Bear Incident
No, I don't think it was fair. I think they said it was because it insulted their beliefs, which is amazing, for naming a bear. In all honesty, I think it's rubbish.
She was also threatened with other punishment, I think it was beating too, which is awful for how little she has actually done, don't you think?

I don't think it's fair ... there is have to be some freedom for people (It was only a kid). And 15 years of jail? That is way too much. I think that a good solution is to have a serious discussion with a priest.

RE: The Bear Incident
I do not think that this is fair. If a teacher let a kid call a bear George, would she be jailed? No, because it is normal. The name Mohammad, or any other names across the globe should be treated equally, and without prejudice.

RE: The Bear Incident
Wow, that's ridiculous.
I mean it may sound a bit disrespectful to someone who follows that religion, but they have to realize that it's just a name as well. Plus it's a child, the child probably said it with good intentions. If he was making fun of the religious figure, then that would be different story.
