Will lessons be learned?
Not to be outdone by any other African state, Madagascar has joined in with an attempted coup d'etat. However, it may not be long before we hear that they have actually succeeded. Mr. Rajoelina thinks that he can just take over a country without democratic due process. And he will probably expect that every other country will recognise his rights. If the people don't realise that this kind of action will only trigger more unrest in the future, then they are heading for some turbulent times. If you let one unruly leader in, it will not be long before someone else decides to do the same.
